What is in a Name?

So what is new with me? Well I started a job at the Deseret News for the summer. Yes it is very different than anything else that I have ever done before, mainly because no kids are involved, yet suprisingly it is very refreshing. It is my first time ever working full time and boy has it been an adjustment! But slowly I am getting used to it. Other than work my life consists of sleeping and weekends. Weekends are the most wonderful things in the world! McKay usually comes down and we do anything and everything from hiking to swimming and surprisingly we have done a lot of shopping. He is a great sport when my dad is gone and he is the only guy around. (he says it is weird, but I think that he secretly loves it) Our goal for this summer is to do at least one thing new each weekend that we have never done together before. So if you have any ideas let us know. :) So besides McKay another thing on my mind, also the whole point of this post is my name. I know... most people don't really ever think about their name, they are used to it and it is just a normal thing. Which for me it is perfectly normal, yet it never stops to amaze everyone else. It is usually the topic of conversation whenever I first meet someone new. Which can be nice, but when you are meeting tons of people all on the same day, like when you start a new job or a new school, you start to sound like a broken record. So where did my name come from? It is a family name, which if I say so myself is a very cool thing. The original Kajsa is my great great great great Grandma. She was from Sweden and came over to America as an adult. She left all of her kids in Sweden and traveled across the plains with the missionaries to Pleasant Grove Utah. Once she left Sweden she never saw any of her children again. Impressive huh? Yes I have always felt some sort of obligation to live up to my name sake, but honestly I can't imagine anything that I could do that would come even close to her so I should probably just give up now. This picture is of me next to Kajsa Larsen's grave in Pleasent Grove on Memorial Day. It was a little unnerving to see my name engraven on a headstone, but exciting to finally see it. The next story that involves my name is this past Sunday my Sunday School teachers named their daughter after me. Earlier on in the pregnancy she had asked me if she could use it and ofcourse I said yes, we could use more Kajsa's in the world. But Sunday was the first time that I had seen her. She was darling ( ofcourse! her name is Kajsa). It was weird to hear everyone talking about Kajsa and not having it be me, but I feel honored that someone would like my name so much that they would want to use it. The only difference was that they spelled her name Kysa. Which I agree with whole heartedly because it is actually spelled the way that it sounds and it will make her school experience a little easier. So with all of this talk about my name I thought that I would once again look it up online to find the meaning and like always I could not find anything. But oh well I still love my name, thanks mom and dad for giving me such a unique name and I hope that I will be able to find some unique names for my kids.
