So this is my first post on our blog, and it is also my turn to share my top twenty things that I have learned at college. They will probably wont be as entertaining as Mel's but try and bare with me...
1. It is harder than I imagined
2. It never works to study with a guy you never accomplish ANYTHING
3. Always have a plan... without it nothing will get done.
4. Actually go to class... this seems so unoriginal yet it really helps your grade plus you are paying thousands of dollars for them so you might not want to waste your money.
5. Get involved in everything you can, it makes life a lot more entertaining
6. Everytime you go home raid the food storage, it saves a lot of money
7. Cherish Saturday mornings they are the only chance you will have to sleep in
8. Don't buy any treats and you won't be tempted to eat them if they aren't there.
9. Have tons of clothes because laundry is way over priced and takes too much time
10. Have a small room, because then it will always be clean cause if it wasn't you couldn't go in it.
11. Go to any function with food, that is one less meal you have to plan
12. Learn what isles at the store to avoid so you don't spend more money
13. You will never actually finish all of your homework and so learn to have fun while you do it.
14. Find joy in the simple things in life, such as a cute boy smiling at you on campus. :)
15. Get to know your ward
16. Discover all of the short cuts through buildings, for those days that you are running late to class.
17. Learn to sleep through anything, saves you when your roomates are watching movies till two am
18. Always find time to excersize... helps to avoid the freshman fifteen
19. Things are never as bad as they seem, just relax and take things one day at a time
20. College students are just big kids trying to learn how to be adults... is it working? probably not. :)
Well there is a taste of a few things I have learned at school. As you can see Melanie and I have had completely different experiences even though we lived in the same room, but I am sure we will both remember this year as a great one at least I feel that I have grown a person. It has definetely been a challenge for me, but as the year is coming to an end I can look back at everything and I realize that none of it was really as bad as it seemed at the time, and I am really excited about the future and the many lessons that are to come with it. (wow what I am I even talking about it isn't like the year is really over yet, we still have the worst week to come.) oh joy!
